I'm not saying it as a value judgement about Image itself, I've picked up a number of their titles over the years (including lots of stuff by Kirkman). I just thought bringing in the modern Image stuff would have ruined the cool "1963" vibe that they had going on with those characters.Chuck Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04529750105224374839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6066888134509330432.post-87130618208522635852011-12-29T22:36:54.363-05:002011-12-29T22:36:54.363-05:00Keep in mind the sole idea for the series was for ...Keep in mind the sole idea for the series was for there to be only one story leaving the obligatory cliffhanger to entice folks..and it did. There was an outcry of requests for them to continue on with a few of these stories. Being a collector of image comics myself...i remember having read several letters in issues of the regular IMAGE series' that followed.Mike D.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11814827714980192042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6066888134509330432.post-19791975581214384442011-12-29T15:34:16.751-05:002011-12-29T15:34:16.751-05:00I hear ya. However without Image I would never have any of Robert Kirkman's great stuff like Invincible and Walking Dead.Cal's Canadian Cave of Coolnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08408150910056369989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6066888134509330432.post-73046668376080315172011-12-29T13:33:20.945-05:002011-12-29T13:33:20.945-05:00The only part of the original project that I was a...The only part of the original project that I was a bit leery of was the planned annual-sized issue that would have crossed over the "1963" characters with the then contemporary Image books (Spawn, Youngblood, Wild Cats, Savage Dragon, etc.).

That didn't appeal to me at all!Chuck Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04529750105224374839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6066888134509330432.post-59635070126157866552011-12-29T11:03:25.786-05:002011-12-29T11:03:25.786-05:00I love that this whole set is unfinished. There is little likelihood that these six issues will ever be collected. Bissette owns sole claim to a couple of the characters and intends to do something with them eventually.Chuck Wellshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04529750105224374839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6066888134509330432.post-60064937665679533282011-12-28T11:04:14.149-05:002011-12-28T11:04:14.149-05:00And they were all printed on cheap pulpy paper.
