Here is a special follow-up post for regular Catacombs visitor, Darci! “Return of the Blue Gorilla” from White Princess of the Jungle #5 (Nov. 1952); originally published by
and illustrated by Everett Raymond Kinstler. Karth, the titular blue gorilla makes
his second appearance in what looks to have been planned as a trilogy of tales.
The Catacombs acknowledges "The Digital Comic Museum", as the source
of this classic comic story. Note: The copyright for this issue, its
contents and artwork belongs to the original publisher and/or creators and is
reproduced here solely for entertainment purposes. Enjoy!
It seems I can't go anywhere on the Internet without bumping into Darci! *waves*
A really nice art job here, but it's by Gerald McCann rather than ERK. McCann had a nice old-fashioned pulp-magazine style and he worked well into the sixties.
Smurf, I investigated your claim about Gerald McCann and have to agree that this story appears to be his work. When I post stories that aren't clearly signed by an individual artist, I tend to defer to who the GCD identifies as illustrator and they do list Kinstler as artist for "Return of the Blue Gorilla", however they also periodically revise their information. Perhaps you should contact them to amend this error?
