Rulah Jungle Goddess in "The Knave of Scarlet" (Fox; 1948)

Rulah Jungle Goddess appears in "The Knave of Scarlet" from Zoot Comics #14[b] (May 1948); originally published by Fox, and illustrated by Matt Baker. I'll be posting some cool black & white Rulah jungle adventures soon, so if you're a fan (like me), please stop by and check them out. The Catacombs is grateful to Don "Zu-Gogo" Falkos for providing the scans for this story. Note: The copyright for this issue, its contents and artwork belongs to the original publisher and/or the creators and is reproduced here solely for entertainment purposes. Enjoy!

"Tee hee! Tandi has love fever for Rulah!"

What? It's 1948 and he doesn't get lynched? That's progress right there! Oh, wait! He gets killed later. Never mind.

I know the creator of this character, Matt Baker, was black. I guess there were things he wasn't allowed to do.

Love Matt Baker. But I hate those Iger Shop "dynamic" panels.
